Requests
Public records will be available for inspection and copying at the Girard Borough building during normal business hours, Monday and Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the exception of holidays and vacations.
Requests shall be in writing and directed to:

Written requests shall be on a form provided by Girard Borough and shall include:
- The date of the request
- The name and address of the requester
- A clear description of the records sought
Fees

A new disk will be necessary each time records are provided. Any other necessarily incurred reasonable fees will be charged in complying with the request.
Response
Girard Borough will make a good faith effort to provide the requested public records as promptly as feasible. Girard Borough employees shall cooperate with those requesting to review and/or duplicate original Girard Borough documents while taking reasonable measures to protect Girard Borough documents from the possibility of theft and/or modification.
The Girard Borough Secretary shall review all written requests for access to public records. As soon as possible, but no later than five business days after receiving a written request to access public records, Girard Borough Secretary shall respond to all such requests in a manner consistent with the Open Records Law.
Appeals Process
If a written request for access to a record is denied or deemed denied, the requester may file an appeal with the Office of Open Records within 15 business days of the mailing date of the agency's response or within 15 business days of a deemed denial.

The appeal shall state the grounds upon which the requester asserts that the record is a public record, legislative record or financial record and shall address any grounds stated by the agency for delaying or denying the request.
